Description
Hi, I am Matthew and I have been a Healthcare Assistant for over 4 years.
In the past, ive done lots of work with Clients who are End of life requiring Palliative Care. I have worked with individuals with a variety of conditions such as Progressive Dementia (Vascular, Lewy Body and Alzheimer’s being the ones I have worked with the most), Parkinson's disease, MS, Multiple Myeloma, Skin Cancer (Melanoma), Stroke, Bowel Cancer and Muscular Dystrophy.Communicating changes in the health and well-being of my clients to their families and other Health Practitioners is a priority. I will make regular thorough notes digitally on the personal care I am doing, and the activities the clients are participating in so the Families know their relatives are being looked after well and have all the information they need to ensure that they are always receiving the correct care they need.
To me, Hygiene and ensuring the environment is clean and immaculate are absolutely essential. I always make sure my clients are thoroughly cleaned and well-groomed so they look their best. I like assisting and supporting clients with any tasks and hobbies that they want to do throughout the day. I also enjoy cooking and will cook the clients whatever they want whether it’s baking a cake from scratch or preparing a meal fresh. I want my clients and their families to know that they should never feel they should have to provide their loved ones with Ready Meals because they think it is convenient for the Carer. I love cooking and doing it every day and providing clients meals around their preferences would be my pleasure. One of the things I have noticed Clients enjoy and never say no to is a Sunday Roast. I always if requested provide my clients with a Sunday Roast (on the house) and I promise you I can make the best Gammon you’ve ever tasted!
I have always taken a compassionate approach to care; I love talking to and getting to know my clients. I have no problems travelling either.
